    The people long ago did not know much about shoes. They would be big boys when they wore shoes. It was Mairtíns they wore up till that and then they would go away and earn the price of a pair of shoes. The water they would wash their feet in is called potato water. They used to say that is the best kind of water to wash your feet in.
