    Old road
    It ancient times there was an old road running across the red bog, This bog is only a 1/2 mile from my home. It was leading from Lakenstown road across the canal and over to the main road from Ballymahon to Mullingar. The remains of this road can still be seen, It is used now only for drawing turf and it is also a good short cut
