    locally. But thread is spun for socks, stockings and blankets by a woman named Mrs. Durcan who lives in Ballyglass about a mile from the school. When working the talior uses a thimble without any bottom, a measuring tape, needles, thread, a scissors, and chalk. Nowadays the taliors have sewing machines but long ago the taliors had to sow by hand.
    Most of the women make the shirts now in the homes, they sue white cloth with a black stripe and flannel cloth for inside
