  1. It was November day last,
    Just after breakfast,
I went to Broadford Chapel and there had mass,
When mass was ended my way wended,
And I saw a great procession of leaguers pass,
I saw the bold Lissane men,
    And the true Kilbane men,
With the men of Bradford they took their stand,
They had their green flag flying,
    And the graziers crying,
On the leagues cheering for the grazing land,
When we reached the great Mills meeting,
    We heard young Redmond speeching,
And around his platform there did thousands stand,
He said "fight on boys and before tis long boys,
I'll make you owners of the grazing land."
    God bless you spades men,
    Sledge hammer and tradesmen,
Particularly, the blacksmiths of the County Clare,
For the British crown they would not a nail put down,
    On a grazier's horse or a grabber's mare,
