- (continued from previous page)Rockcorry is situated on the main road used in the days of stage coaches between Cavan and Belfast.
The coach road from Cavan to Belfast came through Cootehill down the Market House lane and up the forge lane. These lanes which were formerly roads are only used now as passes to houses and to fields.
The road leading from Derry to Dublin was via Newbliss passing through the village of Rockcorry and leading on towards Shercock known as the Windmill road.
Local Ruins
This Windmill road got its name from a Windmill that stands in ruins near by. No one in the village remembers this mill working, but it is commonly reported that it was an important corn mill. This mill is in the County of Monaghan, in the parish of Ematris in the townland of Drumulla in the barony of Dartrey.
