He answered again and the body of a man fell down, and he laid it on the legs. “Tuitfidh mé, thuitfidh mé, thuitfidh mé” was heard once more and the man answered in the same words as before. Then the head and the neck of a man fell down the chimney and Jack laid it on the body. When he had all the parts of the body fitted together in their places a man jumped from the floor. Jack asked who he was and where he came from, and he told him he had been minding gold in the house for a long time. He showed Jack the hole in which the gold was hidden, and told him he was to get half of it, and the people of the ouse to get the other half. Then the strange man disappeared up the chimney, and the poor man set to work. He found the gold and divided it as he was told, and the people of the house were very glad. After that the voice was never heard in the house, and the people always slept there.
