    "Local Heroes"
There are several local heroes in the running competition around here. Their names are P. Hacket, C. Cooke, J. Sweeney and others. All those have won prizes in Belfast, in Dublin and in other places.
    M. Condon of Ballinure was a great man for jumping he used to jump 6ft 6ins and 6ft 2ins.
    M. Whelan of Carrick-on-Suir was a great weight thrower. He was a champion weight thrower of a half hundred-weight. He was also swift for running. According to hear-say N. Cooke of Laffans Bridge could catch a rabbit by running after it.
