    going to have the station and he was carrying the vestment box on his back and he left it down and went into a house and while he was in the house a protestant man was passing he saw the box. He took out the chalice and buried it in the ground. It was found after and it was as good as the day it was buried. The priests used to say Mass in the hills and valleys. They used to say Mass in the houses when they would think it safe. It is said the priests used to say Mass in Smiths in Newtowncashel.
