  1. Long ago when there were no toys, children had to amuse themselves by making home-made ones. Even yet, especially in country places, toys are made at home.
    Girls sting daisies and make chains and necklaces with them. They also make dolls with a piece of wood for the body and two more pieces for legs and then they get a piece of cloth for a dress and another piece for a bonnet. Sometimes is used also a shawl.
    Boys make false faces out of turnips. They cut out a face on the
