She placed him on a bed,
Both night and day Kate does pray
That Pat may eat his skin
But I can tell what suits him well
    He does'nt give a pin.
This song was made on the death of a cross-dog belonging to Donoghue's of Tievenanass. It was said Pat McCabe of the same townland poisoned him and buried him in the bog.
