    The following is a list of proverbs which I know:-
    1. A wise man carries his coat.
    2. There is no road without a turn.
    3. Smooth waters run deep.
    4. Your pocket is your friend.
    5. Fine feathers make fine birds.
    6. Lie with the lamb and rise with the lark.
    7. The truth never chocked a man.
    8. There is no feast till a roast and no torment till marriage.
    9. The hills are green far away.
    10. There is a black sheep in every fold.
    11. A story without an author is not worth anything.
    12. There is many a slip between the cup and the lip.
    13. A new brush sweeps clean.
    14. Loftiest trees most dread the thunder.
    15. If the cap does not fit you, don't wear it.
    16. Hunger is good sauce.
    17. What the ear will not hear, will not trouble the heart.
    18. Four things an Irishman can't trust, a cow's horn, horse's heels, a dog's snarl, and an Englishman's laugh.
    19. Every old shoe finds an old stocking.
