  1. It is said that fairies dwell in forts and music is heard. I heard about a boy who was living with his grand-mother. His father was a famous piper and when the boy came of age he was a good player too.
One moonlit night in the harvest and he on his way from a neighbours house, didnt he hear the sound of music coming out of Loonogs Fort' near Crosskeys. He walked softly to listen. Three pipers with little green caps on their head. The tune was the reel and when they came to the end of it, he could hear shouts. He listened again so as not to loose one note of the music. A voice called him saying "I warn you never to play that reel and never to make it known to the public. He ran home and told his granmother and she told him never to play it. His cousin was getting married and he was asked to play. He played this tune and in walked a few little men and took him away. He never was seen again. This story was told by John Mc Keon of Rassan who lives here still.
