    Changes have come over Glan's rugged face,
    Changes that herald drear ruin and disgrace,
    The weird note is sounded thro' mountains and glen,
    Proclaiming the arrival of Emergency men.
    Verse11
    Those men of emergency as they are named,
    For everything wicked and loathsome are famed .
    They're perjurers, bloodhounds, cravens, cowards who sell
    Their souls to Old Nick for the wages of hell.

    The black-hearted miscreants falter and stink
    Like vultures on carrion-their meat and their drink
    Are the cries of the wretched when thrown out of doors
    By rackrenting tyrants to pamper their
