  1. There is supposed to be treasure hidden under the gate posts of Ballinagrane Castle which is 2 miles from Glenealy. These huge gate posts are to be seen on upper Balllymanus lane. They are nine feet wide and about 13 feet around. Long ago they were the main entrance to the castle.
    The treasure it is said was placed there by Diarmuid Mac Murrough the owner of the Castle.
    It is supposed to consist of pearls and a very costly brooch. The pearls and jewelled brooch belonged to the wife of the Prince of Ossory whom he stole from her husband.
