The habit of keening has died out here. The mother of a Mrs Martin (aged about 70 yrs) who lives near Avoca railway bridge, used to keen at funerals. - Presently (1936) gold is being got beyond Woodenbridge. May. 1936 works closed down
The flagon used in the service of Holy Communion in Castle macadan Church are of Wicklow Silver, from Crone bane Mines. - Burial urn found in murphy's "raheen", Urn broken, made of metal. Taken by Mr Liam Price - sent to National Museum - Dublin see page 8.
