    The animal is marked with a scissors.
    The buyer puts his initials on it.
    When the animal was sold the rope was given away with it but this practice is nearly dead out as the buyer has to buy a new rope to lead away his animal.
    The fair of Rathsallagh was a great day for the ladies.
    They went and carried bundles of rushes for sale.
    Large tents were erected and after the men had sold their stock they resorted to these and dancing and other amusements were carried out to a great extent.
