    and one contains figures referring to the Baptism of Aoengus by St Patrick. King Aoengus was father to St Colman who founded Kilcoleman and Kinnitty Abbeys.In 1207 the Castle of Kinnity was broken down and destroyed by Murtagh O'Bryan. The Anglo-Norman Invasion does not appear to have encouraged learning.
