Here is another fairly old inscription " Erected by James Shortle of Castlebridge in memory of his children niz Peter Shortle who departed this life July 20th 1841 aged 71 years, Mary departed Feb 1st 1838 aged 10 years, Elizabeth departed Feb 4th 1811 aged 7 years, Sally departed March 1841 aged 19 years. Also the afore said James Shortle who departed this life November 12th 1869 aged 77 years. Also his wife Anastatia Shortle who departed this life 4th Feb 1883 aged 88 years . Also Anastatia Shortle died January 31st 1911 aged 79 years".
There are some graves including a vault inside the ruins of the church.
Saunderscourt is our family burial ground.
Many old people remember burials taking place in the disused graveyards.
