  1. These following prayers were told to me by Mammy, they were told to her by her Mother. The first is said going to bed at night it is said in the following way,
As I lay down on my right side,
I pray to God to give me guide
And if I die before I wake to God
I give my soul to take,
    O Blessed Lady awaken me
There are four corners on my bed
There are four Angles over spread
Saint Matthew, Mark, Luke and John
God bless the bed that I lay on
God Bless "Good Friday" Friday day the
Day of Our Lord "Jesus Christ"
    Crucified, Crown of shell thorns
On his head the heavy heart
    And a dismal cry.
