  1. Mary Doyle lived in a cottage near Ross. One day while working in her home, she heard a lorry approaching, and on looking out, saw it was a lorry load of Hessian Soldiers. The lorry stopped outside the cottage and after a while, one of the soldiers approached her, and asked her in rough tones for a match to light a cigarette. When stooping to get it she hit him on the head with an instrument, and killed him.
