The Redmonds, who were all brave down through the ages hailed from Wexford town. Bagenal Harvey resided in Bargy, and John Kelly in Killane.The first mentioned fought in 1922 and 1923 during the Black and Tan period, while the latter fought in 1798.There were also two heroic priests in 1798, their names being Frs John and Michael Murphy, whose bodies were put in a barrell of boiling tar by the yeomanry and their heads piked on their respective chapel gates.- Collector
