  1. (continued from previous page)
children playing, ten marbles would be put in and so on. A line would be made two feet away from ring. A "knuckle thaw", about three times size of marble would be fired at ring, whoever would be nearest ring would be first to pitch.
"?" was played thus: three flat stones were placed on top of each other, a line was fixed about ten feet away from them. A child got a big flat stone and tried to knock down the three flat stones. The boy that knocked them down had to run "after his back", backwards, another child had to run after him and catch him, and carry him on his back home.
"Wind Ball" or "Ball in the Hat", was liked by boys. The hats and caps of children wee placed by wall. A wind ball or solid ball was got and pitched into owner's hat, if boy got it into hat, it counted one score (and a pebble was placed in hat for counter as one). Game was up to seven.
If child put ball into another child's hat, he would have to run after child and try to hit him with ball.
