  1. A few years ago there lived a boy in this Parish whose name was Jack. His father was dead and his mother was very poor. One evening his mother said to him that he should go and seek his fortune next morning. When morning came he ate his breakfast and started on his journey. He walked and walked until the fall of night. By that time he had reached a house in Cavan. He knocked on the door and the man of the house went to the door and asked Jack what he wanted. Jack told him he was seeking his fortune the man
