I have heard from my father that there is a hidden treasure in Roberts fort on the Rickardstown hills.
The treasure is supposed to be protected by fairies and I was told that a neighbour saw one near the place. No person has ever been seen digging for it.
In the same field near the fort there is a big rock about two cwt [?]. It is called the "Piper's Stone" by the people of the district, and they say that whoever is able to move it will get a pot of gold under it. Many men tried to move it but failed to do so.
