  1. The names of the farm animals are:- Cows, horses, calves, sheep, pigs, lambs, donkeys.
Some names of cows are:- Polly, Horney, Strawberry. Some people calls the cows after who they get them from.
The cow-house is called the Byre. The cows are tied with chains in all byres.
There lived and old woman in Loughan, named Mrs Daniel. Every morning when she used to be feeding the calves, she used to sprinkle Holy Water on them to keep away bad-luck. She used to sprinkle it on the pigs, and the rest of the farm animals as well.
People also used to tie red strings on the cows tails for fear people would over look them.
