  1. 321 Another Story of the Black Dog
    from Mrs Martha Duignan, Coolronan
That black Dog comes through Conniffe's field and his head down.
Bridie Murray was passing and she told him to go home, but he did not. He comes to the end of Paddy Murray's field in Coolronan and there is an old pool. When he comes up to that place he disappears.
The people were getting afraid of him and they told the guards.* The guards came and watched him at Hiney's gate and they had two guns to shoot him but the dog came up and passed them by and his head down and then passed them back again. The guards got afraid to shoot him.
