    In the evening when it would be getting duskish a rush light would be put on the hob. This is how it is made. There is a stone ink jar got and it is filled with oil. The wick is made of a piece of cotton wool. This wick is put in the barrell of a pen which is put in a cork. This cork is put in the ink-jar and then it is lighted but it is a very bad light and smokes.
