  1. Portlester is about two miles from ballivor. The battle of Portlester was an important battle although it was never put in history. I will now describe it. It took place during the biggest rebellion that ever took place in Ireland, the rebellion of 1641. Trim at that time was an important town of the Pale. Therefore it was a place to keep the English troops. Owen Roe O'Neill was at that time leader of the Irish
