    there is a pig. He was bought about a month ago for twenty three shillings in the market. When he is fed on buttermilk and potatoes he will grow big and fat. He can be killed salted and hung up to dry making lovely bacon for our dinner.
    I do not take much interest in the fowl but my sister rears, Leghorns Wyandottes, Rhode Island Reds and Light Sussex. She keeps each variety in a separate coop and keeps account of how they pay. She feeds them with mash, fish meal, grit, and chick meal.
