    Mrs. Laura Dunphy, Stamullen, was told by her grandfather that on the night of the Big Wind the door of their house was propped with spades and forks to keep the door from been blown in.
    He also told her that people left their houses and went into the gripes of ditches where there were no trees for safety.
    He was seven years old the night of the Big Wind.
