  1. Churning is carried on more in the country more than in the town. The height of the churn is four foot and three foot across. If a stranger comes in during a churning he takes a turn at the dash. A churning takes about two hours and when the butter appears on the top of the milk it is taken out with a wooden plate and put into a wooden basin. The contents of the churn is called butter milk and this is sold to the towns people for baking.
