    Hurling & Football Matches.
    Football practiced from ancient days.
Ball used was a twisted rope made of hay and sewn with a cord.
The game seems to have been played from fence to fence.
    Hurling was sometimes played.
The hurleys were rough sticks made locally of ash branches. The ball was a round lump of furze root.
