    is said that when a site was being chosen for it's erection, that a white horse loaded with a heavy load was sent out to see where it would rest. It happened that it rested at the place where the church is now built.
    The Patron day is Sept. 8th. The feast of Nativity of B.V. Mary to whom the church was dedicated. At the Patron the people dress the graves with flowers,
    Inscriptions on tombstones:
    An old inscription is:-
    Here Lyeth the body of Thomas Stanley who dyed AD. 1729 aged 70. Also
    Mary Stanley alias Taaffe who dyed A.D. 1763 aged 95 years. also three of their children viz:- Laurence the Rev John, and Michael late Lieut Colonel of Horse in the Imperial Service died the 1+ of March 1762 aged 64 years.
