- William Galway was owner of Drumond Farm about 62 years ago. He had five daughters some of whom became Catholic in later years. It is said that some of his ancestors were Catholics although he himself practised the Protestant religion. He was married on a second occasion, after his first family had scattered. Before his death he showed some signs of the Catholic religion. On a few occasion he sent word to the Catholic priest, Fr. Clarke to pray for him and to get the congregation to pray for him. After some illness he died without the assistance or comfort of a priest. It was thought that his second wife was against the priest attending him. After his death it is said that his ghost haunted the building in the shape of noise and tapping and peculiar noise through the house. Galway died in November 1875.
