  1. The 1st January is New Years Day and the old people say that if you give money away that day that you will be giving money away the whole year.
    On the night before 1st May it is an old custom to gather May flowers and to throw them on the roof of the houses or to wake a May Bush.
    On the night before thte 29th June it was an old rule to light a bonfire.
