  1. Cure for Whooping Cough.
    People believed that my grandmother could cure whooping cough, because her name was not changed when she got married. One morning some people wrote to her for the first slice of bread off the load. She got the bread and knife and cut a very big slice of bread and I was wondering how it would be eaten. She then explained what it was for and she sent it away to the people.
