Ceann Dhu's ship was armed with big guns as well as the frigate and both hammered at each other until night.
A storm arose at night and Ceann Dhu tried to escape but his ship took fire and he was in great danger. His wife Una saw the glare and she knew it was her husband's ship.
She order the skiff or canoe to be got ready and she with four of the sailors pulled out to the burning ship. She saved Ceann Dhu but the others were drowned.
The castle is now a ruin.
