  1. About eighty years ago there was a hurling match held in Jack Murphy's field in Mullagh.
    The teams that were playing against each other were Mullagh and Carhuligane. There were twenty one men on each side.
    The captains names were O'Brien of Carhuligane and O'Dwyer of Mullagh.
    The two captains stood one at each side of the men. The captains picked one of the men in their turn until they had twenty one men on each side.
    It was two townlands that played. The
