    In 1869. A Rising Out as it was called by the people of this district took place.
    Many young farmers armed with pikes and revolvers left their own homes and marched from Greenane to Ballyhurst.
    The attempt failed and many of the young men were imprisoned and their homes were searched by "Red Coats".
