One evening at dusk, Richard Maher, Gragaugh, was crossing a field in Wilford - the field in which Bishop Butlers Palace was.

One evening at dusk, Richard Maher, Gragaugh, was crossing a field in Wilford - the field in which Bishop Butlers Palace was.- Suddenly, a pony and trap crossed a field just in front of him. There were two ladies in the trap and one of them was quietly tapping the pony with a whip. He could hear them talking quite plainly but could not understand one word. Then he thought it was queer to see a pony and trap disappeared. He got so frightened that he fell into a hole up to the neck in water. It was with great difficulty he managed to get home. He was in bed for a week with fright,
