    This while intended to be a re-union of the bride and her family is also an occasion for merry-making.

    Something borrowed and something blue “
    The bridegroom generally borrows some article of clothing for the occasion.
    When emerging from the church after the marriage ceremony which ever one of the newly married is first outside the church door will live the longest. Instances are on record where one of the party usually the bride was pushed out at the church door by her friends.
