- The local Landlord that was in Ballymacegan long ago was Sadler Stoney. Stoney was a leader of the Royalists. He was a bad Land Lord. He put out many people on the road. He swore he would never allow a catholic on his land and that he would only give his work men a shilling a day. He had many tenants and he brought in many English planters. More than any other Land Lord. The people had to go to America.
