    A Funny Story
    A celebrated wit by the name of Bill Linnane, who is now dead, worked near Charleville some years ago. Bill was fond of his pint and on account of this often lost his employment.
    One fine day during the haymaking season Bill was standing at the Courthouse after being in a bit of a booze.
    The priest was coming along, saw Bill. Knowing the kind Bill was he started to lecture him on his habit. "Bill" said he "isn't it a shame for you to be standing on the street this fine summer's day and not to be out haymaking". "Have you any cure for rheumatism father" said Bill. "Give over the drink Bill. Don't be sleeping in dykes. Lead a regular life and I am sure your rheumatism will disappear. By the way how long have you this complaint Bill? "Years I haven't it at all" said Bill shaking himself "but I am towld the little Bishop is very bad wid it
