    About 150 years ago there was a billet-master in Fermoy, Co. Cork and he used to give out the tickets every night...

    soldier got a ticket with the name "John Barry. The Rock", printed on it. The soldier was making inquiries around the town if they knew one by the name of John Barry, The Rock and where did he live. The people only laughed at him and told him that John Barry The Rock, was dead and buried for years. He was walking down the street and feeling very down and out when he saw a gentleman walking along towards him. The soldier faced him up and asked him if he knew where one called John Barry The Rock, lived.
    The gentleman replied with a smile "I'm your man. Come along with me". The two walked off and about a mile or less outside the town they suddenly came on a beautiful mansion all lighted up. The gentleman invited the soldier in and he then ordered his servants to kill the best cow in the bawn for dinner. Mr. Barry promised the skin to the soldier. The servants went out and killed the billet master's only cow. The dinner was served and the soldier ate and drank his rough
