  1. One night John McGrath, a native of Anglesboro' was coming from Mitchelstown. He had to pass by a fairy rath. The fairies came out and took him in to play a Hurling Match with them. His side won. After the match they took his camán from him and let him off. They told him that if his side lost the match he would not see his home for many a long day.
