  1. There is a moat in Balleymach. Once upon a time it was full of large trees. The man who owned it cut them all down and his cattle began to die - one by one
    There were three men hung the time of the Whiteboys; they were hung in Ardpatrick. There was a man coming down from the Ballymae Mountains - he met the three men that were dead and buried. They spoke to him and gave him a white spanal - they told him to [?] not to the man who owned the moat and when he would get it no more of his cattle would die
