    Marriages most frequently occur in this district during Shrove. December is considered as being unlucky for marriages and Wednesday is an unlucky day. Matches are often made in this locality. Money is often given as a fortune sometimes to the girl other times to the man in question. Wedding feasts are held in the bride's or bridegroom's house. Sometimes the hauling home is held.
    "Straw Boys" often visit the house. When they do there is singing and dancing.
