  1. The Robber's Glen
The Robber's Glen is two miles from the village.
It is on the back road to Killavullen.
In olden days it was the mail coach road.
There was a robber living in the glen.
He often attacked the mail coach and robbed it.
He was arrested for the robbery by soldiers.
Before he was hanged he told the people that the gold and treasures were hidden at the foot of a tree in the Robber's Glen.
He said that the man who would get the gold would be a happy man and that there was a leprechaun minding it.
The people of the place heard about it and three men went looking for the gold.
When they met the leprechaun they asked him where the gold was.
He said "I will gladly show ye but if ye take it one of the three of ye will die.
As they did not know which one of them would die they got frightened and went home quickly.
The gold is said to be there yet.
