  1. Some time ago there lived a man in Kiskeam Co. Cork named Donal O Keeffe. He was a wonderful runner and Jumper. He was nick-named Domhnall Á Cásga. He owned some land in North Cork and refused to acknowledge the English authority. His lands were taken from him and he became and outlaw. He was to be married to a girl name Margaret Kelly. She took a bribe from an English officer and told where he was hiding. He lived in caves in different parts of the country and on being discovered in one near Kiskeam he ran to Gortmore near Mallow a distance of about thirty miles jumping the Blackwater at a place where it was thirty feet wide. He was pursued by English
