I got this story from my father. It is as follows:-
Dean Swift was living for sometime near Sally's Cross. He had a servant named John. John was funny fellow and he had several tricks. One day there was a banquet being in the Dean's house and John went into the kitchen and stole a leg of a cooked goose that was on the table. When the cook returned she said to John, "What are you doing here?" "I am working very hard" said John.
"You are not" said the cook. "Indeed I am don't you see me eating at my best," said John. With this the Dean entered.
